They peel very easily and have a superior rich, sweet flavor. The are completely seedless. The rind is brilliantly colored orange. The California climate (particularly the San Joaquin Valley) results in a fruit that is second to none . With the perfect balance between sugar and acid it truly is natures sweetest candy. California navels meet the legal distinction of maturity (a sugar-to-acid ratio of 8.0) early in the season and can be harvested before the winter (as early as mid October). Blood Oranges The first shipment of Blood Oranges is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 17th!! Order Today!! The Blood orange is an exciting variety characterized by its unique interior color - deep red. It has a rich orange flavor with overtones of fresh berries. Like the Cara Cara, the Blood is usually seedless. The rind often has a red blush to it. Also like the Cara Cara our supply is extremely limited. Cara Cara Navel Oranges Harvest to Begin Mid. Jan. 2008+/-!! Cara Cara Pink Navel (AKA Pinkies) is another exciting new variety. It has all the characteristics of the navel orange with the addition of a unique interior flesh color (red/pink). The Red Navel can be enjoyed on its own or mixed with other varieties (i.e. Cara Cara and oranges for a 2-color citrus salad or add some blood oranges for an eye catching 3-color citrus salad).
